He served as the Professor & Chairperson of Centre of Excellence in Public Policy and Government, Dean (Academics) at Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (IIM Kashipur).
IMT Hyderabad Celebrates Convocation for 2024 batch
Prof. Islam has a D.Litt., two PhDs, MA, MBA, LLM (University of Strathclyde, UK), LLB, and B.Ed. Degrees. He 
did his post-doctoral study at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. He studied at AMU Aligarh, Tezpur University, Harvard Business School and the University of Bern, Switzerland. He is also a visiting Professor at London School of Economics. He served as a faculty at various institutions like Gauhati University, Diphu Government College and NIT Silchar, Kigali Institute of Technology, Rwanda and Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He worked on ICT Policy, Plans and e-Government Strategy with the UN Commission for Africa (UNECA), UNESCAP, Bangkok and African Development Bank in Mauritius.
Dr. Islam’s areas of interest and expertise are Sustainable Development, Public Policy and Governance, Media and Communications.
Recently, Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad also underwent a leadership change. Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay joined as its new Director, which would be his second stint at the institute as Director. IMT Nagpur is also expected to have a new Director soon.
IMT Ghaziabad experienced a recent leadership transition, with Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay taking on the role of Director for the second time. Meanwhile, IMT Nagpur is anticipated to appoint a new Director too.
IMT Hyderabad PGDM Placements 2025: IMT Hyderabad achieved impressive placement records this year for its PGDM Programme. The Highest CTC was Rs. 31.00 LPA. The Average CTC was Rs. 14.5 LPA.
