Amritsar, 27th July 2026 – The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIMAm) marked a significant milestone, celebrating its 12th Foundation Day with a vibrant evening of reflection, recognition and revelry. The event brought together esteemed faculty, staff and students to honor the journey and evolution of one of India’s premier business schools.

The evening commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment by Prof Samir K Srivastava, Director, IIMAm, Dr Arun Kaushik, Dean, Administration, Dr Ananya Syal, Chairperson, Students’ Affairs, Dr Pallabi Chakraborty, Faculty, IIMAm and Divya V, MBA, IIMAm.
In his keynote address, the Director reflected on IIMAm’s remarkable journey of growth, highlighting the expansion of its faculty, academic programmes and student community. He emphasized that every contribution plays a vital role in shaping the Institute’s future and called upon all stakeholders to work together in building an institution that continues to set new benchmarks in excellence. The programme also featured a special segment titled “11 Years of IIM Amritsar”, offering a retrospective on the Institute’s growth and achievements.

A highlight of the celebration was a series of cultural performances by students, showcasing their diverse talents through music, dance, drama and poetry. The energy and creativity displayed on stage received widespread applause.

The newly joined faculty members of IIMAm were felicitated with mementos. Awards were presented to outstanding contributors in the cultural segment during the prize distribution ceremony, followed by a celebratory recounting of the achievements of the faculties, administrative staff and the Institute. The celebrations were followed by a vote of thanks by Dr Kaushik who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the faculty, staff, students and all participants for their collective efforts in making the 12th Foundation Day celebrations a grand success. He reaffirmed the Institute’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation and nation-building, while expressing confidence in IIMAm’s continued journey of growth, impact and excellence in the years to come.
The evening concluded with a group photograph and a gala dinner, fostering camaraderie and celebration among the IIMAm family. The guests departed with beautiful memories of an evening that celebrated the past while looking forward to a brighter future.

About IIM Amritsar: The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIM Amritsar), established as the 15th IIM by the Ministry of Education (formerly the Ministry of Human Resource Development) with support from the Government of Punjab, began its journey with the registration of the IIM Amritsar Society on July 27, 2015. The inaugural batch for the class of 2015–17 was enrolled in August 2015. On October 14, 2015, the IIM Amritsar Board of Governance & Society was formally constituted. IIM Amritsar emphasizes fostering an entrepreneurial culture, encouraging collaboration between students and faculty to develop innovative and enterprising solutions.
