IIM Calcutta opens applications for its 1 year full time residential PGPEXM VLM program. The course is being conducted jointly by 3 premier institutes of India viz. IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras.
PGPEX-VLM is a unique program that fulfills the current industry’s growing demand for techno-managerial leaders who shape the neo-industrial revolution. This one year full time residential program has a built in manufacturing focus that helps to appreciate an industry’s metamorphosis in competitive times. The course is being conducted jointly by 3 premier institutes of India viz. IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. The course has been designed by these institutes in consultation with industry, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Eligibility: First-Class Graduate Engineers with First Division/ First Class Marks from Secondary Examination onwards.
Work Experience Self-sponsored candidates, not in service. – Minimum 4½ (four and a half) to maximum 10 
(ten) years of work experience in manufacturing, engineering, and related sector; holding responsibilities in production planning and control, research, design and development, quality control, plant engineering, maintenance, supply chain, construction, etc. Sponsored candidates need to have a minimum of 4½ (four and a half) years work experience only. In these cases, there is no upper limit of experience.
Selection Process Based on the eligibility criteria short listed candidates are called for a written test Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing Admission Test (VLMAT) consisting of three sections Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Engineering Ability.
The written test (VLMAT) is conducted in four cities (Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi). The mode of conducting the offline written examination (VLMAT) is subject to the advisories and guidelines of the Central and State Government during the admission process for the 2022-23 Batch. Candidates shortlisted after the written test (VLMAT) are called for Personal Interview (PI) at the host institute.
