IIM MBA Placements: The final placement season of the Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam (IIM Vizag) has been completed with 100 percent placements for the eighth consecutive year. The overall average package stood at Rs 15.64 lakh per annum (LPA). The highest package stood at Rs 43.25 lakh per annum. This is about 25% higher than last year’s Rs 32.65 lakh per annum. The top 10% of students received an average package of Rs 28.6 lakh per annum, while the top 25% secured Rs 24.62 lakh per annum.

Even the top 50% achieved an enviable average package of Rs 21.05 lakh per annum. For the first time since inception, the Institute witnessed four international offers with an average salary Rs 19.5 lakh per annum.
Around 177 companies participated in the placement season, making multiple offers. This included 117 new recruiters offering roles across various domains, such as consulting, strategy, finance, product management, analytics, brand management, marketing, HR, and IT.
This year, banking, financial services and insurance (34%) bet big on fresh talent; followed by IT and consulting (31%), manufacturing (12%), logistics (7%), retail (1%), and FMCG (1%). Other sectors like healthcare, real estate and construction, and telecom accounted for 15% of the total placements.

IIM Vizag director Prof M Chandrasekhar said that despite strong headwinds, our students stood their ground, dug their heels in, and withstood the tough times, only to emerge stronger and put in even better performance. “We commend them for their resilience. The dedication and tireless efforts of our placement teams and committees continue to impress us. They take the rough with the smooth, playing a catalytic and enabling role in the students’ success. The way the career development services’ teams engage with, equip, encourage, energise and enable our student cohort is a great case-study in itself. The outcome of that effort is evident in all its splendour; an unbroken impressive record of placement, that too of the largest-ever batch this year. This, by no means, is a minuscule achievement,” said Prof Chandrasekhar.
IIMV career development services and alumni relations chairperson Prof Deepika Gupta said that expressed her gratitude to all the recruiters who have reposed their faith in the Institute and students. “With the fear of a global recession, we were deeply concerned about the outcome of this year’s placement season. It is heartening that both the batches 2022-24 (finals) and 2023-25 (summers) outperformed our expectations. The results of 100% placements are pure joy to us. Four of our students bagged international offers, adding a feather in their caps and multiplying our delight.
