IIT Mandi Placement 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) recorded a 23% increase in pre-placement offers (PPO) for the 2022-23 session as compared to last year. IIT Mandi students have received 69 PPOs till Nov 16, 2022, while there were only 56 offers during 2021-22. PPOs will be conducted till the commencement of campus placements 2022 scheduled on December 1. The Institute is hosting a maximum of one or two companies per day to avoid overlapping and reduce stress among the students.

Software analyst and data science sectors made the maximum number of PPOs while Uber offered the highest stipend. The institute also received one international pre-placement offer this year.

The top recruiters which participated in the pre-placement drive include Sprinklr, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Indeed, Uber, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Siemens, Samsung Research Institute Bangalore, Schrodinger, Walmart, Zomato, Texas Instruments, ODE, Arista Networks, Yum, Radisys, Accenture, Aakash+Byju, Nucleus Software, Western Digital, and Nohara Holdings, Inc, etc.

Microsoft made the highest number of offers being 11 followed by Samsung Research Institute with 10 offers, Amazon with 7, Arista Networks with 6, Accenture with 4, and Uber with 3.

“The institute has introduced the provision of six months of internships for students which led to a significant increase in the number of semester-long internships. This directly resulted in a higher number of Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) for undergraduate students,” read an official statement from IIT Mandi.
Explaining the factors behind the increase in PPOs this year, Tushar Jain, advisor, career and placement cell, IIT Mandi, said, “The provision of strong internships has led to a significant increase in the PPOs for students. Since the drive is still ongoing, these numbers are expected to rise in the coming months. At this point, there is a 23% increase in the PPOs received so far compared to the previous year.”

“While seeing the PPO trend, we hope for a successful 2022-23 placement drive. The students from the newly-opened UG programs in 2019, namely data science, engineering physics, and bioengineering, will participate in the recruitment drive this year. Students from these branches have also secured PPOs,” he added.
