Presently 1000+ law colleges in India offer Law degrees, out of these 354 are public, and the remaining 757 private colleges.

The ranking published by India Today lists out the top Law colleges of India, based on certain parameters, which gives a fair amount of idea of these colleges however we would request students to check and verify data at their end too. 

The National Law School of India University tops in India,  which incidentally also tops in NIRF Ranking 2020 released by the Government of India. 

Bachelor of Legislative Law or LL.B. is a degree to be obtained to pursue a career in law. Over the past decade, there has been an almost 20% increase in the number of applicants annually. You can attribute it to the fact that a 3-year LL.B. or a 5-year B.A.LL.B. degree opens up a plethora of opportunities for the candidates in the fields of corporate law, criminal law, or, few of the niche areas like entertainment law, cyber law, financial, real estate among many other booming areas where lawyers are in demand.

CLAT, which is the entrance exam for aspiring students of law, has been conducted for the past few years by various law colleges on the basis of rotation. This year’s CLAT exam held on July 22-23, 2021.
