Mohali, Punjab, 30th July 2026: Rayat Bahra University (RBU) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Tribune Trust to establish a first-of-its-kind AI-Enabled Media School. The collaboration bridges the gap between academic theory and fast-evolving industry demands, embedding real-world newsroom experience directly into the curriculum and preparing students for the future of journalism and communication.
Under the agreement, RBU’s School of Mass Communication & Journalism will collaborate with North India’s largest daily newspaper group across multiple verticals, including digital storytelling, public relations, multimedia journalism, and allied disciplines. Students will gain direct access to experiential learning modules, structured internships, newsroom exposure, and mentorship from leading media professionals. The specialized curriculum will focus heavily on modern media skill sets such as AI-driven reporting, digital verification, fact-checking, and ethical storytelling.

Beyond student placement, the initiative establishes a framework for joint academic events, expert talks, hands-on workshops, and advanced faculty training. By integrating AI into media education, the partnership ensures that graduates are not only job-ready but also equipped to lead innovation in a sector where technology and ethics increasingly define credibility and impact.
Founded in 1881, The Tribune Trust operates one of North India’s most respected daily newspapers, making this collaboration a significant step in aligning academic training with real-world media practice.
