XLRI- Xavier School of Management Jamshedpur welcomed the new batch of students of the new academic year 2024-26 on Monday. A total of 551 new students have joined the XLRI student fraternity.

The inauguration ceremony of the new academic session was conducted offline this year. The event has already become a tradition and every year it is conducted in the Tata Auditorium, XLRI Jamshedpur campus. The event was attended by all the new students, their parents, XL faculties & staff members.
While 9 students enrolled in the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), 14 students enrolled in the Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EXEC-FPM).

Warm Welcome and Focus on Diversity
XLRI Jamshedpur ceremoniously inaugurated the 2024-2026 academic year by welcoming the new batch of 551 students. The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Rev. Fr. S. George S.J., Director, XLRI, Rev. Fr. Donald D’Silva S.J., Dean- Administration & Finance, XLRI, and Prof. Sanjay Patro, Dean- Academics, XLRI.
IIM Lucknow Summer Placements 2023 – 2025 Batch
The inauguration commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the dignitaries, signifying the beginning of a new academic journey. Prof. Sanjay Patro then extended a warm welcome address to the incoming students. Following the welcome address, Rev. Fr. Donald D’Silva S.J. led the assembly in prayer.
Rev. Fr. S. George S.J., Director, XLRI, addressed the gathering and welcomed students and faculty. He emphasized the meritocratic nature of their admission and the importance of seizing the vast opportunities XLRI offers. “Your success is XLRI’s success,” he declared, highlighting the institution’s commitment to student achievement.
“Each one of you is here purely on your own merit, nothing else. You’ve reached the peak but there are other hills you’ll have to climb. Make sure you make the most of the opportunities at XLRI. When you succeed, XLRI succeeds. And when you fail, we fail. Your every action, brings glory to XLRI,” Rev. Fr. S. George S.J, said.

Building Connections and Knowledge
The formal ceremony was followed by a two-hour ice-breaking event designed to facilitate interaction and build camaraderie among the new students. This engaging session provided a lighthearted introduction before the students embarked on a Special Orientation Programme. This program, meticulously designed by XLRI, aimed to equip students with the foundational knowledge necessary to thrive in their academic pursuits.

The academic inaugural event was then followed by an ice-breaking event where all the students had participated and several games/activities were conducted. This two-hour event was a complete refreshment and made all the students interact comfortably with each other.
The new students were then taken through a Special Orientation Programme drawn up by XLRI to update their knowledge before regular classes commenced.
