As per the CBSE datesheet, the CBSE Class 12 board exams are set to occur from February 15 to April 2, 2024. After the culmination of these Class 12 board exams, a considerable number of students typically move on to participate in the JEE Main examination.
This transition marks a pivotal shift from school-based assessments to nationally recognised competitive exams, specifically aimed at securing admission into engineering programmes.
The interplay between standardised board exams and entrance tests for higher education, like the CBSE Class 12th Board Exams and the JEE Main, has often raised concerns amongst students and parents. With the approach of the academic year 2024, a pertinent question looms large:
Will there be a clash between the CBSE Class 12th Board Exam and JEE Main Session 2?
As per the information, the JEE Main Session 2 examination is slated to occur between April 1 and April 15. This situation presents the potential for an overlap in the examination dates between the CBSE board exams and the JEE Main.
However, Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj has addressed this concern by assuring that the board has implemented measures to ensure a sufficient time gap between these significant exams.
“While devising the date sheet, the board has taken into account the necessity for an adequate interval between these two examinations. We have considered the dates of competitive exams such as JEE while formulating the schedule for class 12,” stated Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.
CBSE BOARD EXAM 2024 VS JEE MAIN 2024
In the previous year, numerous candidates advocated for a delay in the first session of the JEE Main, initially planned for January. They expressed concerns regarding the proximity of this crucial exam to the board exams, particularly the practical exams, which were scheduled just two weeks apart.
Through various social media platforms, hundreds of thousands of candidates voiced their apprehensions, seeking adjustments to the exam schedule.
Normally, the theory exam dates for the CBSE board do not align with the dates set for the JEE Main exam. However, recently, candidates have consistently voiced their concerns about the challenges arising from simultaneous preparation for both exams. This predicament is intensified by the involvement in CBSE practical exams, posing a significant challenge for students to focus adequately on their JEE Main preparations.
