IIIT Hyderabad: The International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH) held its 22nd convocation at Global Peace Auditorium , Brahmakumaris Shanti Sarovar Gachibowli , Hyderabad. The event marked the graduation celebration of 519 students, including 25 PhDs and 195 masters with a thesis. 195 graduates earned their degrees based on their thesis work.
- G Pratyanshu Pandey, who pursued B Tech in CSE, was awarded a gold medal.
- Kandala Savitha Viswanadh, a dual degree student in BTech ECE, received the recognition for the best all-rounder.
The graduating batch comprised 81 students in B Tech, 72 in BTech honours, 102 in dual degrees, 68 in Master of Science in Research, 131 in MTech, and 40 in MSIT.
Additionally, all 25 PhD students secured external competitive fellowships from esteemed organizations such as TCS, IHub Data, the government, IIT Palakkad, and others. Many of them also qualified for CSIR and UGC grants.
IIITH’s executive education programs have been successfully delivered in a hybrid model, and over the last four years, they have produced more than 4,000 skilled professionals.
In 2022, IIITH welcomed nine new regular faculty members and promoted seven existing ones. The alumni of IIITH have come together to make a significant impact by raising around Rs. 2.2 crore and providing financial assistance to deserving students through a pay-forward model. In 2022, a sum of 61 lakh was raised to support 62 students (37 UG and 25 PG), out of which 33 have already been repaid.
Nobel Laureate Kailash Satarthi graced the Program as Chief Guest and gave away convocation certificates, and medals. Delivering his convocation address Kailash Satyarthi asked his audience why they globalise compassion. When we globalise everything, it is also the time for globalizing compassion, he said.
Convocation is the day to remember not because you have graduated. It is the day of gratitude. It is the day to say thank you to all those who brought you here, your parents, teachers, relatives, plumbers and carpenters, and all those involvedin your life. It is the day to remember all of those, he told the students.
Commending the graduating students, Prof. P J Narayanan, Director, IIITH said, The graduating students of 2023 are joining the professional world formally today, out to chart their own paths in this increasingly competitive and complicated world. I am confident you possess highly useful skills in your area and immense creativity to apply those to different problems. Above all, I urge you to travel your journey with deep concern and caring toward the society around you. We expect the best from you in the coming years and are confident you will exceed our expectations.
IIIT Hyderabad Placements 2022: International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT H) released final placement for the B Tech/ M Tech and MS by Research batch of 2022. The highest salary offered is Rs. 75 Lakh per annum and average salary offered is Rs. 32 Lakh per annum. The Highest salary offered was for the B Tech CSE branch.
