The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (IIM Kashipur ) inaugurated the Executive MBA (EMBA) Batch 2026-28, welcoming 24 accomplished working professionals to a programme designed to develop strategic leaders for an increasingly dynamic business environment. The incoming class brings an average of over 7 years of professional experience, reinforcing the programme’s emphasis on peer learning, managerial maturity, and real-world business perspectives.

The cohort comprises 17 men and 7 women, with women representing 29.2% of the class. Participants hail from seven states and union territories, led by Uttarakhand (33.3%), Uttar Pradesh (29.2%), Delhi NCR (16.7%), and West Bengal (8.3%), alongside representation from Odisha, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, reflecting the programme’s growing national footprint.

Academically, the batch represents a rich blend of disciplines. While 58.3% of participants hold engineering and technology backgrounds, the class also includes graduates from law, management, commerce, science, computer applications, and the humanities, fostering an interdisciplinary learning environment. Professionally, participants represent diverse sectors, with Manufacturing & Automotive and Information Technology accounting for 29.2% each, followed by Banking, Finance & FinTech (16.7%). The cohort also includes professionals from the public sector, education, hospitality, e-commerce, supply chain, sustainability, and telecommunications.

Welcoming the incoming participants, Prof. Neeraj Dwivedi, Director, IIM Kashipur, remarked, “Experience brings you baggage. Experience brings you certain rigidities. This programme is meant to make leaders, not just functional experts. An equally important part of this journey will be unlearning old ways of thinking and staying open to new ones.”

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Kunal Ganguly, Chairperson-Executive Education and Dean (Development), IIM Kashipur, said, “Our real contribution isn’t giving you knowledge once-it’s transforming the way you think, so you learn to see the business as a whole, not just your own function.”

Speaking to the newly inducted participants, Prof. Safal Batra, Chairperson, Executive MBA, IIM Kashipur, added, “What this programme can truly impart is a mindset-the ability to ignite curiosity, ask the right questions, and exercise sound judgment amid uncertainty. It’s about thinking beyond yourself and understanding the implications of your actions on society at large.”

The two-year Executive MBA programme will be delivered primarily over weekends through a blend of online and classroom sessions at IIM Kashipur’s Dehradun campus, enabling participants to pursue rigorous management education while continuing their professional careers.
