The inaugural event of IIM Sambalpur’s 2024-26 batch featured industry leaders such as Subrat Tripathy from Adani Group, Sumit Sangwan from Havells India. Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal highlighted IIM Sambalpur’s foundation in 2015 and its pioneering gender diversity initiatives. He noted that before 2017, women constituted less than 11% of MBA students across IIMs. A policy change in 2017, offering a 5% cut-off reduction for female candidates, led to 50% female enrolment, a model now adopted by all IIMs.
