The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati launched an online Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree programme in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The Minimum duration of the programme is 4 years with “ Multi – Exit System’ at various points by earning the respective certificate after the successful completion of the required coursework. Each Year will have 3 Terms with 12 weeks duration.
The Multi -Exit options are as given below:
- Advanced Certificate in Data Science and AI – after 1st year Exit
- Diploma in Data Science and AI – After 2nd year Exit
- B.Sc. Degree in Data Science and AI – After completing 3 years
- B.Sc. (Honours) Degree in Data Science and AI – After 4th year
Programme Highlights
- This programme is meticulously designed to prepare students to meet the demands of the industry. Upon completion, the students will be well-equipped with essential qualifications, skills, and resources to pursue various roles in the technology sector.
- Students admitted to the programme may choose their pace and course of study. A student can register to a lesser number of courses than prescribed in a given trimester.

Eligibility and Admission
Eligibility:
Class XII or equivalent with at least 60% marks and Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects.
Admission:
- Eligible candidates will be required to enroll into an online Course, based on basic Mathematics, developed specifically for this program. Applicants will be ranked using a Composite Score that will be based upon their performance in Class X, XII, and the online course. Admission will be given on the basis of the rank.
- Alternatively, applicants eligible to appear in JEE (Adv) and have registered for it (in any year) will be given direct admission.
Fee Structure
- Programme Fee: Approx. Rs. 3,49,000 for four-year BSc(Hons) degree as per the following break-up:
- Admission Fee: Rs. 50,000. To be paid once at the time of admission.
- Course Registration Fee: Rs. 1,000 per credit. To be paid every trimester based on the number of credits registered.
