All About GATE Exam: M Tech Admission
The GATE 2025 result was declared by IIT Roorkee on Mar 19, 2025. Candidates are required to log into the GOAPs portal to check their result. Scorecards for qualified candidates will be made available on March 31, 3025.
Eligibility for COAP 2025: In order to be eligible for COAP 2025, candidates must have a valid GATE score from 2025, 2024, or 2023. IIT Delhi M Tech Admission 2025
Registering on COAP 2025 does not imply automatic admission. For M.Tech. programs or PSU job applications, candidates must apply separately to the respective institute or PSU.
How to apply in the round of offers?
In every offer round, candidates must log in to the COAP 2025 portal to view and respond to available offers. If a candidate fails to access the portal or does not make a decision within a given round, all offers from that round — including any previously retained offers — will be automatically marked as “Rejected.”
Additionally, if a candidate had previously selected the “Retain and Wait” option but does not log in or fails to submit a decision in a later round, all offers from that round (including the retained offer) will be considered rejected as well.
The COAP 2025 portal has released a detailed schedule outlining the key dates for all 10 rounds of offers, including the time frame within which candidates must respond and the options available at each stage.

Options available for candidates in each round of COAP 2025
If a candidate selects the “Retain & Wait” option for a specific institute and program twice in previous rounds, they cannot choose it a third time for the same offer. During Rounds 1 to 4, candidates have three choices: “Accept & Freeze”, “Retain & Wait”, or “Reject.”

However, “Retain & Wait” can only be used twice for the same offer, meaning if a candidate has already selected it twice, they must either accept the offer or reject it in the next round. Additionally, candidates must actively select “Retain & Wait” in every eligible round; otherwise, their offer will be automatically rejected if no action is taken. Round 5 is a Decisive Round, meaning candidates can only choose between “Accept & Freeze” or “Reject.” No “Retain & Wait” option is available at this stage.
About COAP: The Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) was initiated in 2017 to provide a common platform for the registered candidates seeking admission to make the most preferred choice for admission into an M Tech Admission in participating Institutes, or job offer from participating Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs).
While eight institutes (IIT Bombay, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Indore, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee) were involved in COAP 2017, over the years, twenty-four institutes and a PSU (NPCIL) have come together and participated in COAP for filling their M.Tech. seats or job vacancies. Every year, the GATE organizing institute of the preceding year acts as the coordinating institute for COAP.
IISc is the coordinating institute for COAP 2025, and the participating institutes are: IISc Bengaluru, IIT Bhilai, IIT Bhubaneshwar, IIT BHU, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Dharwad, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Goa, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Jammu, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Mandi, IIT Palakkad, IIT Patna, IIT Roorkee, IIT Ropar and IIT Tirupati.
