INDORE: The Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) celebrated its 14th convocation ceremony, conferring degrees upon 807 graduating students across various academic streams.

The event was attended by prominent academic and scientific leaders, with Abhay Karandikar (NITI Aayog member and former secretary of the Department of Science and Technology) serving as the chief guest. The ceremony was presided over by K. Sivan, the Chairperson of the IIT Indore Board of Governors, and hosted by the institute’s director, Suhas S. Joshi.

Pioneering Milestones
This year’s convocation marked key academic milestones for the institute, celebrating the completion of its first two batches of the MTech in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology—a program offered in collaboration with Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Ltd. Additionally, the inaugural batch of the MTech in Centre of Futuristic Defence and Space Technology successfully graduated.

Director Suhas S. Joshi emphasized these new milestones, stating:

The ceremony featured the presentation of seven gold and eight silver medals, alongside awards for outstanding student projects.

Ashok Bansal Memorial Gold Medal: Instituted for the first time this year to honor the most outstanding PhD dissertation by a female research scholar across all departments, it was awarded to Nabasmita Phukan (PhD, Electrical Engineering).
