NIRF Ranking 2024 : The Ministry of Education today announced the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024. IIT Madras (IIT M) is the best institute in India and IISc Bengaluru is the top university in the country. Applications from institutes doubled up from last year. IITs, IIMs dominated rankings again.

IITs ranked in the top positions in the Overall Ranking of Institutes and the Engineering College Categories. While, IISc Bengaluru, JNU and Jamia ranked as the top universities in India.

- NIRF Rankings 2024: Over 10,000 applications received in NIRF As many as 10,885 applications were received this year.
- Categories: 16 Category in Ranking: In its ninth edition, three new categories have been introduced, namely ‘Open universities’, ‘Skill universities’ and ‘State funded Government Universities’.
- Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, also announced that the Ministry aims to begin ‘sustainability rankings’ from next year.
- The faculty-to-student ratio has been changed from 1:15 to 1:10 in medical institutes, and increased from 1:15 to 1:20 in the state government universities.

The higher educational institutes are listed under 16 categories — overall, universities, medical, engineering, management, law, architecture, colleges, research institutions, pharmacy, dental, agriculture and allied sectors, State funded government universities, Skill universities, open universities and innovation. Last year, as many as 5,543 higher education institutions participated in the NIRF
Top 100 B Schools – based on ‘Graduate Outcome’ scores and overall NIRF Ranking
Engineering, pharmacy, management, architecture and planning, agriculture and allied sectors, law, medical, dental, innovation, skill university, open university and general degree colleges including the overall rankings of the institutions.
