NIT Hamirpur Director: Dr. H.M. Suryawanshi will be the new director of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur. The Union Education Ministry has issued their appointment orders. Pro. Suryavanshi is currently Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur, Maharashtra. NIT Hamirpur will get regular director after about one and a half years. Presently Prof. Lalit Awasthi has the additional charge of Director, NIT Hamirpur. Pro. Awasthi has also been appointed by the government as the director of NIT Uttarakhand. Two months ago, interviews were held in Delhi for the vacant director posts in Hamirpur and Uttarakhand NITs, after which notification has been issued regarding the appointment of new directors in these two institutes.

Prof. Lalit Kumar Awasthi is the Executive Director of NIT Hamirpur. Prior to this he has served as Director of NIT Jalandhar, Principal of Atal Bihari Engineering College and Dean Academics in Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur. Notification issued by the Ministry of Education: Prof. Suryavanshi will be the director of NIT Hamirpur.
