Update as on Aug 03, 2022. In a social media post Prof. Janat Shah mentioned, “I was lucky to get this wonderful opportunity to build an institution from scratch as a founder-Director and had a tenure of 11 years and 2 months to work on institution building. It has been a really satisfying journey. We have attempted to build a high-quality research focused institute which also provides a transformational journey for the students. Of course I had an outstanding board and support from faculty, staff, alumni, friends and well-wishers who helped us in this journey. We collectively worked together and under the guidance of the board put together an ambitious vision 2030. As a nation we need many high-quality institutions and at IIM Udaipur we were focused on building such an institution which would be globally recognised. I want to thank everyone (really long list of people) for contributing to this mission. I am happy to pass the baton to Prof. Ashok Banerjee who is an outstanding academic and administrator and would not only implement vision 2030 but add something substantial so that it so becomes vision 2030 plus. I am confident that the institute is in safe hands.”
