The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has announced that it will use the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG) for the forthcoming admission to all its PG programmes for the 2024-25 academic session in all the campuses.
No TISSNET in 2024, admission to PG courses through CUET PG, CAT only
It is believed that basis the mandate issued by The Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission wherein National Testing Agency is to conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to Postgraduate Programmes in Central, State, and other participating Universities, Institutions, Organisations, and Autonomous Colleges providing a single- window opportunity for all Postgraduate students seeking admission to any of the Central Universities (CUs) or other participating organisations, including State Universities in the country, TISS has withdrawn TISSNET to be compliant with the above mandate.
In 2024 PG Admissions 2 major entrance exam is scraped: IIFT Test conducted by NTA and TISSNET Conducted by TISS Mumbai
About TISS: The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 by Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.
In 1954, TISS moved to a permanent campus at Deonar, Mumbai (now known as the Main Campus), from the earlier campuses at Nagpada and then Andheri.
In 1986, established a rural campus in Tuljapur, Maharashtra and two off-campuses in Guwahati and Hyderabad in 2011. In addition to these campuses, TISS offers teaching, training, research, and development support from centres established across India including in Leh, Ladakh and Port Blair, the Andaman and Nicobar.
