In this series XISS Ranchi is one of the oldest Business Schools in India, It was established as an extension department of St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi, in 1955 by Fr. Michael A. Windey, S.J. to train young men and women in Rural Development. SDMIMD Mysore-based MBA college offering 2-year full-time PGDM program and 1-year PGPM program was established in 1993 and Jaipuria Institute of Management was formed in 1995 having 4 Campuses with one being at Lucknow. Chandragupta Institute of Management (CIM), Patna was formed in the year 2008 and it is reasonably new in terms of year of establishment.

In terms of Programmes offered and specialisation, all these Institutions provide PGDM with CIM, Patna offering PGDM in Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Venture Development (IEV),Sponsored by Department of Industries, Govt. of Bihar. XISS (Ranchi) is famous for its Courses in HRM and Rural Management, whereas Jaipuria Institute of Management is known for its Programme in Financial Services and Retail.
As far as seats intake is concerned, XISS has the highest Intake of 330, followed by 240 each for SDMIMD and Jaipuria and 180 for CIM. SDMIMD accepts scores from all major entrance exams but for XISS, Ranchi it is only CAT/XAT and CMAT(conducted by NTA),CIM, Patna & Jaipuria Institute of Management. additionally accepts GMAT scores.The CAT Cut Offs for these institutions are more or less similar and are in the band of 50 – 65.

In terms of Fees and Placements are considered, CIM-Patna newest of the band has the lowest fees of Rs 7.65,XISS – Ranchi has a fees of Rs 9.25; whereas SDMIMD has a fee of Rs 11.4 and Jaipuria Inst.of Management’s fees is Rs 13.5. Avg CTC of SDMIMD , XISS and Jaipuria Inst. of Management are INR 9.80,INR 9.40 & INR 9.0 and that of CIM, Patna is INR 6.50.
Overall, when these above B-Schools are compared in terms of ROI ( Fees viz-a-viz Placement CTC primarily) XISS, Ranchi clearly edges past the rest .
