The Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) held its first convocation on Jan 27th, 2024 where a total of 1,013 students were awarded degrees, including two batches 2020-2022 and 2021-23.
Mumbai gets its 2nd IIM – NITIE is now 21st IIM of India
These students have become the first ones to get their degree certificate under brand “IIM Mumbai”, as the institute was erstwhile known as National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE). At the same time, these two batches are also the last ones to get Post Graduate (PG) Diploma which NITIE offered until now.

Batches passing out of IIM Mumbai hereafter will get IIM Mumbai’s MBA degree.
Congratulating the students, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who was the chief guest for the event, said, “The institute has traveled a long distance in its journey to become IIM.”
Stating that the IIM ecosystem contributes to India’s wealth management, Pradhan urged the newest and 21st IIM of India to work toward building unicorns.
Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, National Stock Exchange (NSE), was guest of honour for the event. Among others present for the first convocation of IIM Mumbai were Chairman, Board of Governors (BOG) of IIM Mumbai, Shashi Kiran Shetty and Director of IIM Mumbai Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, along with all faculty members, students and parents.

Earlier NITIE Fees was Rs. 14.5 Lakh now IIM Mumbai fees is Rs. 21 Lakh
IIM Mumbai is the first IIM with tuition fees equivalent to IIM A, B, C, K for the first batch 2024 -25.
Earlier NITIE offered Post graduate diplomas in management and industrial engineering now IIM Mumbai offered MBA course and two specialized MBA in ‘Operations and Supply Chain Management’ and ‘Sustainability Management’
NITIE Placement 2023: National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) formerly National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering released final placements for the Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM) batch 2021 – 23. Total of 161 recruiters participated in the placement process. This year’s highest salary offer is Rs. 78 Lakhs per annum and the average salary offered is Rs. 27.75 Lakhs per annum.
