Indian Institute of Management Trichy (IIM-Trichy) has decided to give weightage to Class X and XII marks for admission to its PGPM programme from the 2022-24 batch for the first time.
IIM-Trichy had an intake of 240 seats in its PGPM course and 30 seats in PGPM-HR programme. Now, the total number of seats at IIM Trichy is 410 for the batch 2022 -24. Number of seats in PGPM is 360 and PGPM HRM is 50.

“Earlier, we used to give 10% weightage in admission for UG scores. This year, the admission committee decided to break down the 10% to give 2% weightage to Class X marks, 3% for Class XII marks and 5% for graduation marks. Students with consistent academic performance will get preference in the new weightage system. We are planning to increase the intake in PGPM to 360 and to 50 in PGPM-HR. The institute is growing and we have decided to increase our intake. Like last year, admissions interviews will be online and there will be no WAT, which used to have 10% weight, so IIM Trichy has added 7% to PI weight to make it 25% and 3% weight will be given to Verbal score in CAT”, said Professor Prashant Gupta, Chairperson, Admissions, IIM-Trichy.
As per the admission policy for PGPM 2022-24 batch, 50% weightage will be given for CAP scores, 25% weightage for personal interview, 3% weightage for verbal comprehension, 5% weightage for work experience, 10% weightage for academic performance, 2% weightage for professional qualification and 5% weightage for female candidates.

IIM-Trichy will conduct the Common Admission Process 2022 (CAP) on behalf of nine IIMs in Bodh Gaya, Jammu, Kashipur, Raipur, Udaipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Sirmaur and Trichy. Overall, the number of seats available for Common Admission Process 2022 is likely to increase by around 200 this year. “We expect approximately 2,600 seats will be available for the admission process,” he said.
Nine IIMs have decided to exclude the written ability test (WAT) like last year and conduct personal interviews online due to the Covid-19.
The last date for CAP registration is January 28th 2022.
After the registration process, an intimation of the personal interview process will be sent to the successfully registered candidates. The personal interview process for the 2022-24 batch has been scheduled in three weeks in three slots from February 14 to March 12.
IIM Trichy Completes 100% placement for the 2019-21 Batch
Last year, around 17,500 students had been invited for the Common Admission Process and 13,000 students appeared for the interview. This year, IIM-Trichy is planning to call around 20,000 candidates and is expecting around 15,000 candidates to take part in the process due to increase in seats.
