Prof. (Dr.) Suhas Joshi joins Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (IIT Indore) as a Director in place of Acting Director Prof. Neelesh Kumar Jain. Two Professor of IIT Bombay Prof. (Dr.) Suhas Joshi & Prof. (Dr.) Rangan Banerjee Joins IIT Indore and IIT Delhi as a Director.
Dr Suhas Joshi, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Dean of Alumni and Corporate relations at IIT Bombay has been appointed as the new director at IIT Indore. The central government on Monday appointed him as IIT Indore’s director.

Dr. Joshi completed his Bachelor’s in engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in Bombay. He continued to complete Masters in engineering from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli and later on went on to get a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay where he continued to become the head of the department in 2014 till 2017. He has also worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Georgia Tech in 2002 and served as Visiting Faculty at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign from 2005-06, both in USA.

Professor Joshi has undertaken over 38 research, infrastructure development and consultancy projects sponsored by aerospace, nuclear, defence and private organisations in India.
He has also served as the Associate Editor of Transactions of ASME (American School of Mechanical Engineering) for the Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering and has been on the editorial board for International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacturing (Elsevier).
IIT Delhi Gets New Director. Dr. (Prof.) Rangan Banerjee
He is presently on the editorial board for Machining Science and Technology (Taylor and Francis) and Indian Journal of Engineering & Materials Sciences, CSIR-NISCAIR. Dr. Joshi has been a recipient of many awards namely the BOYSCAST fellowship of Govt. of India (2002) for young researcher, ‘Best Faculty’ award for the Mech. Eng. Dept in IIT Bombay (2007) and ‘Dr. P. K. Patwardhan Technology Development Award’ of IIT Bombay (2008).
