WAT : How can primary education in rural India be modernized? (20 mins, 300 words)
GD : Are controversies enough to make or break a celebrity’s image?
GD was decent. 12 of us got to speak for 1 minute in a certain sequence, then there was around 20 minutes of round table discussion. Not at all chaotic.
PI: 3 panelists, 2 gentlemen and 1 lady.
The generic why MBA.
The little more specific why MBA from IIFT.
I was asked about my work in detail. Why I wanted to study International business after having a technical IT work experience.
– How can you measure the performance of your work? Rather, tell me some parameters. (I was cross-questioned on this.)
– How can you contribute to IIFT, if we select you?
– Explain the Paris Agreement. (I had mentioned this in the CV form) Do you think it is achievable by 2020? What is India’s rank in the global pollution index? Who controls the master thermometer that sets the temperature cap?
I went a bit sloppy with my words on the Paris Agreement, and it seemed they were disappointed. (“We thought you would know, since you had mentioned this in your form” – this might have been a bluff, who knows :/ )
My take : I have been asked about the nature of my work experience and my job responsibilities everywhere, so people with work experience – kindly go deep and research about your company and your industry. Also, for IIFT call getters, read your CV form in detail.
