NIRF 2025 Ranking Engineering: The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 rankings for engineering colleges were announced on Sep 4, 2025 by the Education Minister.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has retained its number one position in the engineering category for the 10th consecutive year in NIRF 2025.

This year, the list has been released for 17 ranking categories, namely Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental, Law, Architecture and Planning, Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Innovation, Open University, Skill University, State Public University, and SDG or Sustainability.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science -Pilani (BITS Pilani) Tops in the private engineering category with a jump of 9 places followed by S.R.M. Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) Chennai, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Vellore

VIT Vellore slipped by 5 places

Top 5 Private engineering colleges are BITS Pilani, SRMIST Chennai, VIT Vellore, Shiksha ‘O’ Anusandhan and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology and Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation University (K L College of Engineering), UPES maintain its position

Manipal Institute of Technology, Birla Institute of Technology both loose its position by 3 places

Christ University jumped by 17th places no ranked 76, in 2024 it was 93

International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) jumped by 9th place. (47 to 38 in 2025)
