With great zeal, IIM Amritsar commemorated 76 years of freedom on the 77th anniversary of India’s independence on the 15th of August. Prof Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Director, IIM Amritsar, hoisted the ceremonial flag in the function conducted at the transit campus of IIM Amritsar. The event was graced by the institute’s faculty, staff, and students.

In his address, Prof Nagarajan Ramamoorthy enlightened everyone present with his grandfather’s contribution to the freedom struggle and with quotes from the nation’s liberation, encouraging them to make a promise, to be honest in all aspects of their lives, be it in the personal or professional front, and urged them to be good citizens. Additionally, Dr Harpreet Kaur addressed the gathering and expressed gratitude to martyrs who laid their lives for our nation; the students put forth their points of view on what freedom means to them. The students also performed spellbinding in front of the gathering, instilling a sense of pride and belongingness in them.

IIM Bodh Gaya Commemorates 77th Independence Day with Solemnity and Enthusiasm
Following the event at the campus, the institute’s students performed a flash mob at the Attari border, winning over the audience and the media present. They paid a magnificent homage to our esteemed leaders while dancing to patriotic songs like ‘Chak de India’ and ‘Rang de Basanti’. The entire event was coordinated by the students’ body of the institute, with the help of the Media and PR Cell, and 50mm, The Photography Club.
