IIT Placement Report: This Year Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) Placement is new high. Over 130,1 crore-plus job packages. IIT Bombay students have received over 1500 job offers out of which 1224 were accepted. As per the data shared by the institute till Day 9 of the placement drive, 25 students have accepted job offers with CTC over Rs 1 Cr per annum.

The IITs that have received these offers include the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi [IIT D] (50-plus offers), Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur [IIT K] (33), Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay [IIT B] (25), Indian Institute of Technology Madras [IIT M] (25), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur [IIT KGP] (12), Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati [IIT G] (8), Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi [IIT BHU] (4), and an Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (2).

In a year of big tech layoffs and looming global recession, the Class of 2023 across seven old Indian Institutes of IIT G Placements 2023 Technology (IITs) has bagged at least 133 offers with pay packages of Rs 1 crore and above.

There has been some impact though: job offers with compensation of over Rs 1 crore have dropped at most IITs this year compared to last year when these campuses, as well as IIT Bombay, hit an all-time high record of crore-plus offers during final placements at about 185, as reported by ET earlier.

The IIT Bombay placement season started off with Phase 1 on December 1 and the first day saw 250 job offers and 300 pre-placement offers (PPOs). More than 300 companies are expected to participate in the entire placement drive.

Of the 300 pre-placement offers, 194 have been accepted, while of the 250 job offers, more than 175 have been accepted.

On the first day, 46 companies interviewed the candidates either in-person or online. Some of the recruiting companies are Accenture Solutions, Airbus India, Microsoft India, Morgan Stanley, McKinsey, Procter and Gamble, Qualcomm, Shell India, Texas Instruments, and Tata Steel.
