NIRF Ranking 2024 Management Colleges: The ninth National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2024) Rankings were released with much fanfare at the Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. 

This year in the NIRF Rankings the total number of Management Institutes participated is 779 out of which NIRF declared the ranks of 125 B Schools however it displayed data of only 100 B Schools. Rest of the 101-125 B Schools were ranked in alphabetical order without any metrics or scores.

IIM Bodh Gaya climbs 20 ranks to be ranked 33 by NIRF in 2024

Out of the 779 institutes evaluated, a whopping 435 institutes (55%) had ZERO Publications as per the NIRF reports. 

IIT Madras tops overall Engineering Institutes and VIT tops once again in Private Engineering Category

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A) topped the Business Schools Ranking not just in overall but also topped in 2 major parameters – Research Professional Practice (RPC) and Teaching Learning Resources (TLR)  in the country while XLRI Jamshedpur once again tops in the Private Management Category followed by MDI Gurgaon.

Top 100 B Schools – based on ‘Graduate Outcome’ scores and overall NIRF Ranking

Key Points in the reports : 

  • Total number of faculties in B Schools is 4826 of which 4510 are PhDs.
  • No mention of the number of Professor of Practice or Faculty with Industry Exposure has been mentioned. 
  • Budget in Management Institutes category reduces by 0.6%: INR 90713 Cr to INR 85866 Cr.
  • Report also highlighted a glaring gap of Research Publications Globally it is counted as 1,37,864 whereas In India its a mere 8768 which 6.36% 
  • 435  Institutions  having “0” Publications
  • The highest Score on RPC is 78.39 which is the lowest of the 5 parameters despite all the focus on Research 
  • FORE School jumps 10 ranks to 53.

Top 35 Private University in India by NIRF Ranking 

IIT Madras and VIT Vellore (in private category) are consistent performers in all aspects for the past 5 years.

Some anomalies in the ranking prevails: like Chandigarh University ranks at 36th above XIMB, FORE School, IIM Amritsar, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, NIT Trichy, IMS IIT BHU and Amrita B School and Amity University ranks at 28 and 29 respectively above IIT Kanpur, IIM Nagpur, Great Lakes Chennai.
