Important Information of 1st year B Tech students for the AY 2023-24
JOSAA Round 6: JOSAA Seat Allotment Result 2023 – The result of the JOSAA Round 6 seat allocation is now available on the official website. Candidates who enrolled for and participated in the counseling procedure can access and get their results on the official website.

Reporting schedule of first year students in all IITs (Indian Institute of Technology).
Shortlisted candidates will be required to report online with relevant documentation. Candidates may request a seat withdrawal from July 26, 2023, to July 27, 2023, and withdrawal response questions may be submitted from July 26 to July 28 till 5 p.m.
- Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD or IIT Delhi ) reporting time is July 30, 2023.
- Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT B) reporting time is 8:30 AM July 31, 2023.’
- Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras or IIT M) Reporting time is July 29 (Saturday), 2023 and class starts from Ju;y31, 2023.
- IIT Ropar reporting time is July 30, 2023 (Sunday).
JOSAA Seat Allotment Result 2023 – Direct Link
This information is only for students who have been allotted seat at IIT Ropar through JOSSA 2023. The first semester will commence from 30th July 2023. The classes will be starting from 2nd August 2023.
1. Reporting Date: 30th July 2023 (Sunday), the students are requested to report at Brahmaputra Hostel (Boys) and Brahmaputra Hostel (Girls).
* The students arriving on or after 27th July 2023 are also requested to report at Brahmaputra Hostel (Boys) and Brahmaputra Hostel (Girls).
2. Registration Schedule:
Registration shall start at 10:00 AM on 31st July 2023 (Monday) in Senate Hall. Registration forms are available on website link as given below. Please download the forms, fill them and send/upload the duly signed forms/documents on the google form link. The google form link will be shared through your email id. These documents can be uploaded by the candidates who have frozen their seats and deposited the Institute fee.
The candidates are required to pay the fees as mentioned below. After payment of fees submit the following documents on the google form link.

a) Income affidavit/Income certificate.
b) Fees payment receipt (Institute fees)
The Entry Nos. will be issued after payment of fees and will be shared through your email id.
3. Orientation & Induction Program:
The Induction Programme for the newly admitted students is scheduled from 30th July to 1st August 2023. The orientation programme is scheduled on 1st August 2023. The details of joining the Induction and orientation program will be conveyed separately. The parents/guardians of the students may also join for the orientation programme. Please note that participation of the student in the Orientation & Induction Programme is mandatory. The details will be shared on the Institute website and send to the students through e-mail.
How to Report After Seat Allotment
Candidates, who are registered, uploaded documents and paid seat acceptance fee, Online document verification will be carried out by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) virtual reporting centres within the scheduled dates.
During online document verification, verifying user will verify DOB, Category, PwD, KM and passing status and update accordingly. The following can happen based on updation of candidate’s parameters:

- Candidate will remain in this round and seat remains allotted as original allotment
- Candidate’s allotted seat woul be cancelled in this round and will be moved to the next round and based on the updated eligibility and seat availability, he/she may be allotted a seat in the next round.
- Candidate will be out of the system completely for any further rounds
Based on input provided by verifying user during documents verification, if allotted seat is being confirmed then “Provisional Admission Letter” or “Seat Cancellation Letter” will be generated in candidate login.
Document discrepancy removal
Candidate need to resubmit the documents for which a discrepancy has been generated by virtual reporting centre user at the time of document verification for completion of document verification process by virtual reporting centres user.
Candidates who have will not respond to Queries raised by virtual reporting centre during the specified period then such candidates will be considered as ‘Not Reported’ and their allotted seat will be cancelled.
