Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar delivered a thought-provoking address at the 43rd Annual convocation of IIT Dhanbad (ISM), in his keynote speech,Vice President Dhankhar highlighted the global recognition emphasising the crucial role of higher educational institutions in driving economic growth rather than being secluded bastions of knowledge.

Describing education as the most impactful transformational mechanism in society, he stressed that a nation’s stature is intricately linked to the quality of education provided to its youth.
Institute Director Dr J K Patnayak shared that 1,239 students have received degrees during the Convocation and the Vice President gave away Gold Medals to 39 meritorious students. A B.Tech engineering student of the 2021-22 batch received the President Gold Medal. This award is being given to the student who comes through JEE Advance and has the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and overall Grade point Average (OGPA).
